For the Global STM Journals department, Elsevier is looking for a Publisher to manage our Geochemistry and Planetary Science Journals portfolios.
In this role, you will maintain, develop, and take complete publishing responsibility for a defined list of Geochemistry and Planetary Science journals and to work on related projects and initiatives.
You will balance scientific knowledge with entrepreneurial skills and a keen interest in new online developments.
and would have to be prepared to work somewhat independently from the rest of the immediate team while also contributing to team initiatives and assisting and advising other publishing staff in the team as necessary.
Your responsibilities :
Manage a defined portfolio of Geochemistry and Planetary Science Journals
Work with society partners on strategic journal development, launch plans, and overall business relationships
Develop proposals for new titles both within existing society relationships, with a focus on open access launches
Identify new opportunities for expanding the portfolio
Oversee setup and management of society contracts and renewals
Manage relationships and build trust with society partners and the broader scientific community
What you should bring :
University level degree in a related academic field
At least 3 years of relevant experience in the publishing industry
An appreciation of the contribution that societies make to the publishing landscape
A clear understanding of open access publishing
A creative and innovative problem-solving attitude
Strong networking, diplomacy, and collaboration skills
An ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Excellent communication skills in English
