We are offering a position as Ship Operations Inspector at our Refinery in Rotterdam.
What will you do?
Primary Job Functions :
Ensuring the continuity of safe loading / unloading operations of seagoing and inland vessels via pre-arrival screenings & visual inspections
Daily planning for the mooring and loading / unloading of seagoing and inland vessels based on estimated time of arrival, ullage onshore tanks and reduction of demurrage costs
Administrator and custodian of UAB planning software
Monitors and supervises correct and safe operations on the jetties
Monitors and supervises transport of dangerous goods according to AND, ADR legislation and ISGOTT, ISGINTT best practices
Site Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor
Surveyor witnessing to ensure accurate measurement of the deliveries and receipts (quantity, temperature and density)
Participates in high potential and consequence incident investigations
Participates in internal and external workgroups as Rotterdam-site representative
Type of candidates we are looking for
Requirements :
Adaptable to time pressure and changing work priorities
Exert and maintain a high level of energy, effort and drive to get the job done (self-propelling)
Able to work well with others throughout the organization and with third parties
Strong communication and organizational skills, good verbal and written English language skills. German language is a pre
Due to the nature of marine operations, should be flexible with working hours
ADN / ADR basics, or willing to follow a course
ADN / ADR dangerous goods safety advisor or willing to follow a course
Accredited for SIRE cat 3 BIQ5 and BIQ9 inspector or willing to follow the training
Passion for safety and able to drive improvements
Maritime experience is desirable but not necessary; marine operations knowledge and a good understanding of ship capabilities would be useful
