The Trips business unit that Attractions is part of, will bridge the Booking.com of today with the Booking of tomorrow, leading the evolution from a single-product company to a multi-product offering company with an unprecedented, personalised travel experience at the heart of its success.

Attractions is a new business dedicated to helping travellers discover and book things to do around the world, from museum tickets, to canal cruises and guided tours.

To do this, we need to build a marketplace with the world’s broadest selection of bookable things to do, and effortlessly match the right activity to the right person at the right time.

Our goal is to offer travellers the widest choice and the best customer experience, no matter what tour, activity, or attraction they choose.

Job Summary .

One year after a significant pivot from a direct supply model to partnering with a select group of market leading aggregators, the new model has been successfully validated and is now in a phase of aggressive scaling.

We are now building the team to take the business through the journey from scale up to market leader and to becoming an essential part of creating a connected trip experience for our customers.

The Strategy and Operations Manager will play a key role in three main areas :

  • Developing a long-term strategy and answering key strategic questions (this involves analytics, market research and an understanding of technical, business and process constraints today and in the future)
  • Translating strategy into strategic plans (annual budgets, operational targets etc)
  • Ensure key stakeholders are delivering on the plans (by both tracking performance and also understanding the detail of the work practically being done and supporting problem solving issues that arise)
  • This role will be an exciting opportunity for someone entrepreneurial with a passion for building things, coupled with an appreciation for the value that structure and accountability can bring.

    It may not be a good fit for someone looking for well established processes and clearly defined requirements.)

    Strategy

  • Supports the long term strategic direction-setting for Attractions
  • Collates and plans research, working with product, UX and research teams
  • Builds operational and financial models required to support strategic decision making
  • Drives translation of Attractions strategy into department level visions, roadmaps and goals, working closely with all tracks
  • Coordinates and pulls together strategic questions being worked on across the business (e.g. from Commercial, to Data, Product etc) and leads work on selected topics
  • Conducts market and competitive analysis to identify trends, threats and opportunities for growth.
  • Performs business and financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities & drive performance
  • Defining rationale & process for major investments (including business cases)
  • Link closely to Trips Business Operations and FP&A for yearly target & budget setting
  • Planning & OKRs

  • Drives annual and quarterly planning cycles, coordinating and aligning inputs across departments
  • Assists MD & departments to :
  • Translate strategic plans and budgets into tangible weekly / monthly operational plans for each department to which teams are committed
  • Construct OKRs that are well-defined, clear, and measurable
  • Identify dependencies, resource constraints and trade-offs, and get these resolved during planning
  • Ensure that if we add up all our objectives, it means we will hit our overall plan
  • Track progress vs. OKRs
  • Review and communicate progress, ensuring corrective action is taken early where required
  • Business Operations

  • Helps to define key processes for the BU and ensures that a governance model is in place for all the strategic projects (including key success factors, responsibilities and ownership and performance measurement)
  • Helps ensure key operational and financial metrics are tracked and that performance against plan is closely managed, with clear accountability on track owners
  • Manages regular meetings : weekly / monthly / quarterly business reviews, managing and tracking key actions
  • Organizes events (e.g. Attractions All Hands meetings)
  • Implement overall performance tracking for Attractions management team and improves decision-making mechanisms
  • On complex projects, connects dots to ensure delivery
  • Provides craft leadership on process improvements
  • Is point of contact for internal audit, compliance, risk, and finance topics
  • B.Skilled .

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role (2-3 years of Consulting or Investment Banking)
  • Entrepreneurial drive and track record of getting things done
