As Welder / Fitter you will be part of the Operations Team based in Breda, The Netherlands and responsible for fitting and welding all permanent and temporary steel constructions.
Together with a small team you will be involved in all activities that take place in the welding shop. Your main task will be modifying of existing steel structures that are used on site for heavy lifting and abnormal transport.
This involves drilling, cutting and welding. But also constructions from scratch are made, all according to the highest quality and safety standards.
This exciting role will offer a lot of variety and responsibilities. Occasionally there are steel work activities on location, for example while preparing barges.
Fabrication or modification of structural steel constructions according per engineering drawings and established standards
Weld GMAW (MIG / MAG) or SMAW (electrodes) S235 / S355 steel in horizontal and vertical position, according to WPS
Operating other steelwork equipment for example : cutting torch, grinder, drill
Preparing tools, equipment and parts for welding jobs
Review of finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings.
Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required
Instruct and assist 3rd party hired welders
Remove and restore temporary steel structures on return from project site
Assist project teams on location with welding / burning activities
Keep welding shop tidy and ensure tools and equipment are in proper functioning condition
Assist with loading / unloading of equipment / steel structures
Follow internal procedures regarding HSQE and report regularly to the Yard manager
Contribute to a co-operative working environment within the company
Minimum required : Technical education or equivalent experience
Qualified in Welding process 135 / 138 MIG / MAG
Certificate to drive Forklift truck and / or Cherry picker
Experience in Welding Process 111 Electrode
Certificate to operate overhead crane
Ability to read technical drawings
Knowledge of welding procedures and qualifications
Knowledge of reporting and quality control
Minimum 3 years’ experience in welding and fitting trade
Work experience with abnormal transport or lifting
Good Communication, Dutch and English oral skills
Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work
Willing to work overtime and weekends if required
Driving License (BE-CE)
Prepared to travel
