As an Engineering Operations Lead, you will be the Systems Architect that maintains accountability for Token ID’s PCI DSS compliant SaaS application services, deployed in a Public Cloud as well as within Visa, by leveraging leadership, personal influence, organisational and analytical skills.
In this role you will be responsible for actively taking ownership and driving the successful operation and performance of Token ID’s SaaS deployments, while tracking and reporting the indicators that helps us meet our service level objectives.
You will collaborate and bridge our internal Token ID teams like DevOps, Development, Productivity Engineering, QA, (Technical) Project Management and Product Management with the global Visa Infrastructure & Operations, Cybersecurity and any additional necessary teams in the ecosystem.
This individual contributor is part of a team that will act as primary interface with Operations, Change, Incident, Problem, Attestation, Risk, Audit, Security, Compliance, and Governance Processes (including security exception management).
You will work with your extended team and each of the SaaS application’s technical delegates to implement product infrastructure projects, to ensure capacity, to deliver performant products, support operations, oversee deployments, track assets and configurations and, also, ensure the SaaS environments are compliant.
This position is within Token ID, a Visa Payments Product Group Solution, in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and reports to the Engineering Operations Manager.
What we’re after
A "Key technical" person(s) who will dive into the SaaS application service(s) entirely and will assist in any technical details.
Primary technical point of contact for the SaaS application service and all the associated configuration Items and able to provide or acquire all necessary information required for this role
A Systems Architect that strives for Operational Excellence and Operational Resilience by facilitating necessary activities and help close all and any gaps
Attends trainings, responds to audit inquires and completes all required verification exercises and attestations acknowledging the accuracy of the information within the designated application service(s)
Interact with many teams within Token ID and Global Visa for performing many tasks like end-to-end application service creation and maintenance, building lower level and production environments, ensuring the environments are secure (properly patched) and compliant, and in new initiatives / migrations mandated by Visa for our service applications.
Supports and participates in program, project and application activities with expertise, direction, motivation, and encouragement in a matrix environment
Provides personal leadership, directs, and supports Technical Delegates to optimise delivery, performance and operations of SaaS application services and actively address the most complicated risks, issues, supporting and troubleshoot impediments to attain resolution or improvements
Work closely with stakeholders and delivery teams to understand requirements, ensuring a clear and common understanding of scope and priority of deliverables, manage interdependencies and impacts among application services.
Maintain compliance with Visa's Key Controls, Technical Security Requirements, and Design Security Requirements in partnership with the remaining Token ID team functions
Responsible for many application service process dependencies such as Security Engagements and Assessments, SSDLC, Configuration Management, Vulnerability Management, IAM, Data Privacy and Data Loss Prevention, Risk and IT DR, Architecture Review, Pen-Test and other related activities
Availability to participate in on-call duty and act as an escalation point for operational issues, activities and provide timely escalation during critical situations
Use various monitoring and analytical tools to detect and resolve issues or improve on overall performance proactively and reactively
Ensuring that documentation is thorough, accurate and meets a standard of high quality
Drive continual improvement through strategic and thoughtful solutions with an automation first attitude
Develop and continuously improve key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement
Team player that will help and support team members, and incidentally perform tasks outside own expertise to get the job done

Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree (required) and preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems or related field.
Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated independence, leadership, and personal influence skills
Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills
Advanced process orientation and exhibited planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
Understanding of SaaS Operational model concepts : SLI, SLO, SLA, Latency, Disaster Recovery, OpenAPI / Swagger, API Gateway, Retention, Active-Active, Data Protection, Subnets, TLS, SAML, Web Proxy, Failover, Replication, Encryption, DB Schema, CDN, WAF, etc.
Understanding of high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments, infrastructure / network and common application protocols
High Level understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Understanding of cloud designs and potential work-around scenarios to mitigate client impact
Understanding of Microservice architecture
Understanding of release management particularly CI / CD pipelines, branching strategies and test automation.
Preferred experience with Monitoring and Centralized Log Management tools.
Preferred experience in a previous hands-on role : engineering, operations, technical project lead or service delivery
Preferred experience with cloud providers and enterprise cloud solutions
Preferred experience with incident, problem, and change management
Demonstrated ability to problem solve complex issues from and end-to-end perspective
Ability to communicate effectively throughout an incident management process to ensure that all communications are timely and accurate, as per documented process
Ability to understand systems from all levels, from the "big picture" enterprise-level view to the low-level technical view
Ability to design a solution on a high level and build documentation for all aspects of a technical infrastructure
Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple hierarchy levels internally and externally to support strategic organisational plans
Ability to work in a complex organisation to determine business needs, providing the best solution to meet those needs
Open to feedback, able to deal with ambiguity and work on multiple concurrent activities is a must have
Exposure to software development tools, java application servers would be nice to have
Experience or exposure in the Payment Card Industry or with Tokenization solutions is nice to have
PSPO, TOGAF, PMP or Prince2, CSM or PSM is nice to have
Cloud Architect or a Container platform technology certificate is nice to have
ITIL certification is preferred
