Image that you are working in a team which is responsible for the Global Risk Management System of Rabobank. 7000 users and 700 concurrent users demand a high performing and always available system.

Currently we want to make the next step in higher availability, smoother operations and preparing to go to the cloud. You could be part of our high performance team as a technical OPS engineer.

We are looking for a highly motivated Operations Engineer. The Archer platform consists of 5 environments, but we also support 2 other applications with their own environments.

Next to ensuring the always on strategy we ask you to participate in : performance testing, regression testing (using the TOSCA platform and SPLUNK platform) and we look for people who want to innovate seeing the huge potential of the data we have in the Archer platform.

Impact :

As OPS Engineer you work in a DevOps team together with Business Analysts, Functional Engineers, Developers and obviously with the PO and Scrum Master.

Each month the Archer Teams are bringing a new release of the Archer platform live, which needs to be regression tested, performance tested, acceptance tested and deployed from Dev to UAT to PROD.

The vendor RSA also provides updates to the application which you are responsible for proper Life Cycle Management. You are the liaison to the infra structure departments, for backup and restores and support during go live weekends.

You keep an eye on the SLA requirements and monitor and report on the KPI’s.

Required :

  • In proactively monitoring the applications (e.g. SM9, Azure DevOps and specific monitoring tools).
  • In analysing & solving production issues.
  • In automating maintenance tasks as much as possible.
  • In testing (LAB, TEST, UAT) and releasing monthly deliveries.
  • Maintaining all environments, Training, Test, Acceptance, Lab, Production
  • Experience in capacity management.
  • In managing and supporting infra changes such as hardware, middleware, connections.
  • In lifecycle management of the software (e.g. upgrades of Archer / Tosca ).
  • In contributing in your team by doing other tasks from a T-shape perspective (TOSCA Testing, performance testing using loadrunner, SPLUNK reporting, functional support).
  • What counts as extra are things like :

  • Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence

    Collaboration in key in how we work. Our Archer team join forces to deliver a sprint to production every month. We work for 8 department who use the platform.

    Currently we are running 2 other projects where we setup the File Selection Tooling and the new Reporting and BI environment of the Archer platform.

    We work in 2 DevOps teams and 2 project teams. You will be assigned to one DevOps team and support primarily that team, but will assist in other projects where needed.

    With you as OPS Engineer the teams consist of about 30 diverse colleagues in a variety of roles like : Business Analyst, Functional engineer, Developers and Tester.

    In addition it’s important that you recognise the following skills below :


  • 5 years of working experience in Banking IT
  • BSc / MSc in Computer Science or other relevant studies at an Academic working level
  • Knowledge and Experience with MS SQL environments
  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Microsoft SQL Server and SQL query knowledge
  • One of the technologies : SPLUNK / PowerBI / Machine Learning / Performance Testing (loadrunner)
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
