The senior FP&A analyst role provides an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to move from an operational finance role into a more entrepreneurial, impactful and strategic space, acting as a business partner in providing advice on FP&A alignment to Cargill’s regional and global strategy.
This role reports into one of the FP&A Leads based in Schiphol, the Netherlands.
The senior FP&A Analyst will analyze data to provide insight into evaluating acquisition targets, products and customers.
Additionally, this role will focus on analysis and proposals on top line growth, cost of goods sold efficiencies and ways to continue to reduce SG&A.
This role interacts critically with the FPA Lead and Group Director and may also act as point of contact to a commercial leader.
Building strong relationships within the function and business including leadership teams will be critical for value creation opportunities.
Critical skills in analysis, communication of a set of information and point of view, influencing, and challenging the status quo are critical.
60% Financial Planning & Analysis
Supports the strategic planning and Annual Business plan process of the business with Retail and Food Service business by working closely with the Regional FP&A lead;
Perform Segment Profitability Analysis - Understands key customer segmentation, product lines, margin trends, external analysis, and what levers to pull to ensure realization of financial commitments, where to make money today and tomorrow, tightly aligned with strategy, ensuring grounding with data / external reality.
Provides analytical FP&A support to Regional IBP process, be present at all periodical steps, and lead financialization of assumptions, ensure good support from A&F team and support / represent FP&A lead;
Monitor operational performance including variance analysis and comparison against forecast and budget. Challenge the business with a critical view and propose opportunities to improve.
Create and drive value within business (stretch targets). Measured by profit improvement (wider margins), lower cost and driving performance.
Identify improvement opportunities and present the supporting information. Help implement approved action plan.
20% Process Improvement :
Support the process for developing models to fully reconcile Strategic Pricing value to accounting systems in the region.
20% Ad-hoc Project Support :
Provide analytical support for the Business Segment / Regional FP&A activity.
Your profile :
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or other Business-related degree;
Minimum of 5-7 years working experience in a Finance related role, preferably with trading exposure;
Ability to integrate and interpret disparate sources of data using broad range of analytical data tools, using Hadoop and various BI tools;
Incorporates use of statistical methodology and predictive modelling techniques. Design, develop and implement value-added business analytics;
Excellent stakeholder management skills; a proven track record at successful relationship building and managing of high level stakeholders across different functions and regions;
Demonstrated strong commercial acumen. Able to understand the business (products / services, customers, processes) and their key drivers of success (how they make money, what the business costs are);
Demonstrates high degree of curiosity. Invest time and energy into learning. Seeks different points of view and perspectives (internal and external);
Relates to others with candor, openness, and transparency;
Experience and success in motivating teams for high performance;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent English, Dutch is a plus.
Master’s Degree in Business or Finance;
FP&A experience before Cargill;
International business experience.
