  • The Payments department is in charge of creating best in class payment experiences for bookers and merchants alike, and helps internal clients grow their businesses.
  • The Partner Payments track is responsible for ensuring smooth, accurate and timely payouts to Bookings partners and to build payout products that provide a great user experience and help partners grow their business.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong, hands-on Engineering Manager. The focus of this role is to manage, coach and develop an engineering team, ensuring the development of both the individuals and team in line with organizational objectives.

    You should be a technically strong role model that can help your team advance and develop. The role requires analyzing technology and talent needs together with market demand.

    You will work closely with other leaders, key stakeholders and payments teams to determine feasibility, effectiveness, scalability and time-to-market for new and existing products.

    This is an advanced engineering role on the intersection of business and technology; requiring knowledge of building highly scalable and resilient services as well as strong ability to connect engineering with business concerns.

  • Experience in designing and architecting APIs, dealing with high traffic and security concerns

  • Ability to get into the technical detail (where required) to coach, support and mentor the team

  • Learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies to be able to share learnings and apply these to a variety of projects when needed

  • Define, shape and deliver the roadmap
  • Build new products, processes and operational plans

  • 6+ years of experience in software development
  • At least 3 years of experience leading and managing a team of engineers in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Experience with Java is a must
  • Experience with Kafka, Cassandra and / or MySQL is a plus.
  • Deep experience with unit, integration and end-to-end testing paradigms.
  • Experience in defining and upholding SLOs / KPIs and conducting architecture reviews for systems.
  • Experience with R&C, SOx or compliance is a plus
  • Very good understanding of APIs design and queues
  • A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of developing and shipping software
  • Good technical background in handling big scale projects
  • Past experience with Payments or FinTech is a plus
  • Experience in working on products with a large customer base and company wide impact
  • Strong technical skills (Coding & System design) with ability to get hands-on with your team if needed
  • Strong people management skills and experience in dealing with complex people issues
  • Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management experience, good commercial awareness and technical vision
  • You have driven successful technical, business and people related initiatives that improved productivity, performance and quality
  • You are a humble and thoughtful technology leader, you lead by example and gain your teammates’ respect through actions, not the title
