Why we need you

The director of hotel openings performs project management of new hotel openings and hotel re-branding. They will be working with all corporate functions to support the successful transition from a signed management contract to an operational hotel, through implementation and management of the hotel opening process.

Strategic planning is a key element to the opening support processes, along with smoothly managing the continuous improvement and development of a comprehensive portfolio of pre-opening tools and resources.

The director of hotel openings reports directly to the COO, with a functional management line towards teams involved in direct procurement, contracting and operational procedures within entire hotel operations portfolios.

Within the operations support, the director of hotel openings covers multiple disciplines in terms of a future system and hotel support developments.

This includes reviewing the current operational processes and procedures for future operational hotels, in order to maintain a high level of brand standards and to monitor TSH values.

What you’ll be doing to make it happen

  • Managing the operational roll out of The Student Hotel locations, from development to pre-opening and soft opening
  • Advise development during zoning and design process on all operational aspects
  • Project manage and coordinate all internal stakeholders to deliver a flawless product
  • Control operational pre-opening budget and tender management
  • Ensure all operational licences are in place
  • Support on procurement on fixed furniture and equipment, operating supplies and equipment and manage in time delivery
  • Develop and update blueprint project plan for The Student Hotel roll out
  • Ensure hotels maintain brand compliance through pre-opening audits and action planning process
  • Scope, recruit, lead manage the opening team to deliver multiple openings in multiple countries (12 openings in the next two years)
  • Support on internal quality management control focus internal auditing on new hotel openings
