For this year and beyond, our Data Science & Consulting division (ODSC) has incredibly ambitious plans to further improve the world of our customers using mathematics, data science and advanced analytics.

To realize those plans, we need you as a Data Engineering Trainee! You as a trainee

During the traineeship, you will be given responsibility early on. You will get the opportunity to acquire more knowledge, to develop your passions, and to find out what kind of projects suit your ambitions.

As a Data Engineering Trainee you work on projects like designing and building robust and complex data infrastructures for machine learning purposes in the cloud.

Projects subjects range from Internet-of-Things in supply chain to creating a centralized data environment for the management of a large manufacturing organization.

You will have the opportunity to really make impact in your market(s) and have the benefits of a multi-disciplinary team by learning from each other and joining social activities.

The work includes design, architecture, quality assurance, delivery of the various data pipelines and associated functionalities (e.

g. visualization, data catalog). In close collaboration with the client's project leads, technical leads and engineers, the ORTEC team will build the data ingestion and processing pipelines in support of the business requirement of making data sources available for analysis.

Our hands-on training will give you the skills required for the various roles you will play. In terms of building your soft-skills, we also provide courses to improve your communication skills, to teach you how to work on projects more efficiently, to improve your time management, and to enlarge your commercial skills.

Our trainee pool consists of 20 young professionals. You are coached on the job and supported to develop yourself by experienced consultants.

At ORTEC you will work with highly motivated colleagues with a passion for software and mathematics. We operate in a flat organizational structure that keeps communication lines short.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's or a Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Science or other relevant studies

You are ready for your first or second step in your career

Strong communicator, a self-starter and motivated by the clients’ vision, contact and interaction

Able to work in a team and at the location of the client

Experience in modeling and programming

Knowledge of R, Python, and / or data modelling is an advantage

Ambitious and quick problem-solver

You are currently living in the Netherlands and are able to fluently communicate in English (verbally and in writing).

Command of the Dutch language is a plus.
