Your role and work environment
As a member of this new team, you will be involved in developing a Finance as a Service ( FaaS ) proposition for our Real Estate clients.
This new proposition must enhance the flexibility of our balance sheet and ensure that REF Business Banking NL ( REF BB NL ) remains the leading financing platform in the Dutch real estate market for the foreseeable future.
Together with the relevant Wholesale Banking ( WB ) products teams, you will assist on new and existing distribution partnerships, on complex (syndicated) financing structures and look for new ways to place or sell-down real estate loans (i.
e., securitizations, debt funds). The FaaS team and you, will work closely together with existing ING distribution teams and channels, yet also come up with new and innovative ways to increase our distribution capacity and therefore help our clients.
In this position, you will support the other colleagues of the Finance as a Service sub-team (in total 3 FTE) in all activities, from distribution activities, optimizing operational processes, client pitches to marketing efforts.
The FaaS team will be part of the Center of Expertise (6 FTE), which will give you an even broader picture of REF BB NL.
Internal / external contacts and nature of contacts
You will work in a dynamic environment within REF BB NL, with Dutch Real Estate clients and several international stakeholders.
Internal : REF Front Office (Relationship management and Account Management), REF squads and operations, Business Banking, WB CRM, GLC, Balance Sheet Distribution, REF Syndications, CS&A, Groenbank, Legal DBNL, Sustainable Finance; and
External : Real Estate clients, banks, institutional investors, law firms, family offices
Your key responsibilities
As a Financing Specialist in the FaaS team, you have a.o. the following responsibilities :
Work out client pitches to advise clients on their financing structure or specific financings;
Transaction support for operations and portfolio management (Portfolio desk);
Work on the optimization and digitalization of the existing and future OTD portfolio;
Support front office in structuring (sales, GLC and application) and assist in the financing process of club deal and syndicated loan transactions;
Support REF Operations to ensure that the REF organization is better fit for distribution activities;
Managing internal stakeholders (e.g. Operations squads, Portfolio desk, BSD, REF Syndications, Groenbank);
Support other team members in investigation the appetite in the capital and financial markets for Real Estate loans, both for distribution partnerships and syndicated loans;
Join other FaaS team members in client visits and prospects;
Develop a network within the relevant WB product teams who are involved in the actual distribution; and
Come up with new ideas to increase the distribution capacity of REF BB NL and find ways how we can better help our clients (even if this will not be via the REF BB NL balance sheet)

You are a curious and eager person, driven to learn quickly;

Preferably experience within (Real Estate) banking;
Some experience with IT, data and / or SAP;
It would be a nice-to-heave if you have some experience with WB product and distribution teams;
Possess some real estate and market / liquidity knowledge;
Have an affinity with real estate and / or its clients; and
You are a team player.
With a proven track record and technical skills :
Master degree in Real Estate, Business or Finance related studies;
2 Years’ experience in banking;
Good excel and Powerpoint skills; and
Fluent in English and Dutch.
