Instrument Engineering and assurance is intended to improve Refinery up-time and margin. Project Engineering contributes to cost efficient execution of maintenance and sustainability of margin.
Possibility to develop into a Senior QMI engineer within the Pernis Engineering and assurance department.
What's the role?
As one of our QMI Maintenance Engineers, you will support our operations and maintenance staff with technical advice, bad actor elimination, application engineering, incident investigation, project scoping, turn around scoping and life-cycle planning.
You will manage our relationships with our suppliers and contractors. You will support the project engineers with application reviews and engineering guidance.
As a specialist you will support our instrument project engineers. You’ll be required to deliver project engineering and assurance for projects and plant changes.
This includes fit-for purpose specification and selection of analyzers, sample conditioning systems and gas detection systems.
Experience with explosion prevention (ATEX), industry engineering practices and control systems are required in this role.
You’ll lead by example, motivate, coach and provide active guidance to maintenance staff, contractor office personnel and / or contractor staff.
You will be the technical authority on your projects and provide assurance that our regulations and standards are implemented.
You encourage enterprise first behaviors in / across multiple teams and recognize & reward staff who excel in their personal performance Drive team HSE performance in line with business performance targets.
You will pro-actively promote and exercise safety interventions in the field. Whilst complying with prevailing regulatory and Shell requirements and suggest fit-for-purpose improvements.
You will contribute to the site initiative to reduce waste by eliminating inefficiencies of working processes. You pro-actively assist to exploit the potential of instrumentation and systems to assure process safety, improve the site operational availability and reduce maintenance cost level.
You are able to network effectively to keep abreast of technological developments, contribute to recognize and actively introduce project execution best-practices.
