We are looking for a Team Leader Life Science Data at the Danone Nutricia Research & Innovation (R&I) Center, based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

As Team Leader Life Science Data your mission will be to lead the data and programming team within R&I Advanced Health & Science.

This team will provide state-of-the art innovations in data management, data engineering and statistical programming activities across human and non-human evidence, including ETL pipelines and complex data flows across multiple systems.

This team will support a wide range of innovative early phase GCP (Good Clinical Practice) clinical trial designs including decentralized trials and digital data capture.

This team will also support data activities for pre-clinical and non-human data. You will have impact on business results through delivering efficient and reliable collation, processing and analysis of data which will lead to new nutritional engines and ultimately the launch of new Danone products.

This role will report to the Senior Team Leader Human and Non-Human Evidence within the Human Evidence and Insights Generation department.

You will lead, empower and coach a team of data managers, data engineers and statistical programmers. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues in the Nutrition Clinical Research Unit (NCRU) and other stakeholders within Advanced Health & Science as well as more widely across Danone.

The mission of the Human Evidence and Insights Generation department is to generate pre-clinical, clinical and omics data insights from research activities within Advanced Health & Science, including through external partnerships, and support advances in food technology formulation and manufacturing in collaboration with R&I Specialized Nutrition and R&I Advanced Process and Technology

Your main responsibilities will be :

  • Execute strategy on data generation, processing and analysis aligned with the Advanced Health and Science needs
  • In partnership with the Senior Team Leader Human and Non-Human Evidence guide your team to develop innovative tools and processes, e.
  • g., design and utilize fit for purpose ETL pipelines, from source data capture (paper or app) through to data lake storage and long-term data curation and re-use.

  • Assess and advise on data flows, including compliance with GDPR where appropriate
  • Ambassador for new data technologies in the life science domain platforms, programming languages to push existing boundaries
  • Line management, training and qualification of a team of data managers, data engineers and statistical programmers. Responsibility for oversight of external staff.

  • About you

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Biomedical or Life Sciences or related
  • 5+ years of experience in field of data or statistical programming
  • Experience in managing people
  • 2+ years GCP experience and a solid understanding of the clinical trial process is a plus
  • Experience with non-human data, e.g., food technology data, is desirable
  • Demonstrable track record of deliver of innovative data projects
  • Knowledge of clinical data standards (CDISC, STDM, ADaM) is a plus
  • Highly IT literate with in-depth knowledge of multiple data platforms and technologies, not limited to clinical research
