The role is a key management position responsible for the Technical implementation of Entertainment Products & Services across LG’s EU countries in order to enable the delivery of revenue growth.
This position will be the key person Go To technical contact for both : 1) In-flight product developments and 2) Our overall technology strategy to support growth and customer proposition plans around the Entertainment portfolio.
This role is a key Technical Lead position in the Technology group that is responsible for the Blueprint End-to-end Integration of Back Office and clients across all Go To Market teams and therefore should ensure synergies in our overall delivery and operating model by working closely with peers within Technology and across the wider Technology & Innovation group.
This role will lead a diverse team of up till 50 individuals through integration activities and must inspire and motivate in a way that leverages the collective talent across all markets and align individuals around the Customer Value Proposition.
This role is pivotal in bringing together E2E products and services at the Blueprint system integration activity level, including drawing in IT, Core, Access, Mobile & Technology groups such that we build a compelling and differentiated service across the entire customer journey, not just the core product functionality, with built-
in quality, robustness and operational excellence instrumentation and operating model design.
This role must demonstrate behaviours and skills needed to balance the tension between the ambition of product teams and technical teams in order to achieve time to market, quality, and business case targets.
Lead a team of E2E Integration engineers, scrum and test teams.
Lead integration architecture, engineering teams and activities to deliver the solution / quality and business value for LG.
Manage technology components design, dev / build and integration as well as network and IT integration
Manage defects lifecycle
Support Go / No Go Decisions technical PM
Manage Vendor / component team for overall delivery coordination and problem / bug reporting
Manage implementation defect / problem characterisation and Root Cause Analysis (pre-launch and L3)
E2E Requirements intake, planning, design, Integration, validation and Blueprint delivery.
Manage Blueprint release management cycles and processes.
Coordinate / Align technical solutions with product, E2E Architects and component teams.
Drive process creation and adjustments for agile development and delivery to fulfil business needs improving time to market.
Delivery of integrated and validated blueprint solutions per product requirements and quality levels.
Manage the technical acceptance of solution and handover to country integration teams.
Provides technical planning, coordination and reporting support for the project, represent technical work stream at project meetings
Leads Blueprint E2E Test team
Knowledge & Experience
Preferred education / qualifications :
MSc degree level in a relevant area (network-, communications- or consumer electronics engineering, )
Prince2 certification is a plus
Fluent spoken and written English ideally other European languages
Knowledge & Experience :
At least 10+ years of experience in the cable, satellite or telco industry
At least 10+ years of experience in End-to-End System Integration of B2C video services
At least 10+ years of Experience and knowledge of CATV technologies, STB and DTV Middleware platforms and Video Delivery technologies
7+ years of experience with working in an international and distributed team environment
7+ years of experience in delivery management of large Pan-European B2C implementation projects, with extensive knowledge and experience of technology development and delivery management methodologies.
An understanding of Entertainment B2C services from : commercial & content sideproduct development processdeep understanding of entertainment technology & ecosystem, from CPE hardware and software to service platforms, user interfaces, Apps and media acquisition / management, processing, and distribution, and end-
to-end content protection and securitywide understanding of IP and broadcast networking as well as data center infrastructure.
An understanding of Entertainment related costs and economics and able to support unit economic analysis.
A strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator.
Basic technical knowledge and implementation experience around CPE hardware and software, Video encoding / transcoding, CAS, DRM, Video back-
ends, workflows, CMS, security services, Search & Recommendations, Application Services, CDN, Ad Insertion, broadband data, home networking, TV, VoD, PVR, Access technology, and Internet technology related.
Good overall knowledge / familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including : Ethernet, IP, broadcast, transmission as well as most current IP communication protocols.
Good knowledge / familiarity with Audio and Video coding / decoding technologies
Good knowledge / familiarity with related IT systems (OSS & BSS), especially TR-069 and SNMP based CPE Management.
