Physics Engineering internship (DELFT) : Optimized strategy for the inspection of unflat wafers
Location Veldhoven, Netherlands Degree Master Experience Team Research & development Job category Physics Travel Reference J-00255323-021
Introduction
Are you a master student in Physics or Engineering with experience in programming in Python and modeling physical problems?
Then this internship could be interesting for you!
Background information
At ASML Delft, we are developing a multi-beam electron microscope for in-line wafer inspection. Compared to a conventional scanning electron microscope (SEM), when used at high resolution, our microscope has a very wide field of view (which is desirable) and a very shallow depth of focus (which is not desired).
In other words it can only image a broad area on a wafer if the wafer is very flat. Taking into account the unflatness of a typical wafer presents various engineering challenges.
Your assignment
The purpose of this intership is to develop an inpection strategy for an unflat wafer : which ares can we image correctly?
Which adjustments can we do? How is the throughput (area imaged in a given time) affected?
Based on measured and simulated topography maps of a wafer and on the available adjustments knobs in the system you will develop an inspection strategy, define algorithms and write code to answer the questions above.
Your profile
To be the perfect match for this internship, you :
This is a master apprentice internship, with a minimum duration of 6 months, 5 days per week, starting as soon as possible.
