We have achieved good success on radar solutions, e. g. the record-low power radar for vital signs and occupancy sensing, presented at ISSCC 2019*.
To continue our success, we will develop key components of radar that provides small system form factor while keeping low power consumption.
In such design, A single-antenna Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) RF front-end design with high TX-RX isolation is promising.
What you will do
FMCW radars are preferable in terms of high resolution and low sensitivity. However, due to its duplex manner, TX-RX direct coupling (spillover) is a key concern, and it is closely related to the system form factor, e.
g. the physical distance between TX and RX antenna and the efficiency of antennas. To minimize both the coupling and form factor, a single-antenna, full-duplex radar front-end with high TX-RX leakage suppression will be investigated in this project.
